First, we went to the Milwaukee Central library to drop of Cyn's image for the show. Then we went back up the street to see Trinity church that burned a few months ago. Then to Alverno college to see the Portrait MKE show that I didn't get into. Then up the road to Forest Home Cemetery. Then we stopped at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, since we'd never seen it. Then to an Indian restaurant for their lunch buffet. On the way home we went to Atwater Park by the lake, then took a walk around the neighborhood.

They're restoring. The worst damage seems to be the roof. Only one of the two steeples was burned out, and I saw photos of the altar area which seemed more or less intact.

It turned out that the Portrait MKE show was not portraits of people in Milwaukee, but portraits of Milwaukee. I'm disappointed, since I could have nailed that theme.

We went to Forest Home last weekend, because we saw a new article which said the Schroeder angel had been stolen. So we went down to see the damage, and it was still there. I called the cemetery to see what was up, and the guy I talked to said that one of the two angles had been stolen. Since we were in the area, we stopped in again and discovered that the back side of the monument once held an angel. But that was a long time ago.

Mt. Olivet is smaller and newer than Forest Home, but it had a few interesting gravestones.

We had the buffet at the Indian place. I was stuffed afterwards, so we decided we needed a walk. We drove out to the lake on the way home, and stopped at Atwater Park. We went down the long stairs to the beach. It was windy, so there were surfers practicing on the waves. There were only a few people there to enjoy the beach otherwise.

After that, we walked around the (wealthy) neighborhood. Cyn was stopped by a woman who asked her if she was at the grocery store the day before. Apparently she looked like the person who was reaching for the cheese at the same moment. And Steve Cohen, local musician, was standing nearby.

After we got home, we saw a rider galloping his horse down the road. Never saw that here before. And now there's an argument on Facebook about whether galloping on pavement is bad for horses, or not real bad for horses.
