We hold our St. Andrew's meetings at the Wisconsin club. It's kinda fancy. There are a couple of venues there, so when we have events there are often other groups there. But not usually on Monday nights. So I was a little surprised to find, when I went to leave, that another group was getting out at the same time. It was crowded tonight so I had to use the valet, and wait in line a while with this other group.
It was some sort of formal military thing with the men in dress uniforms (with lots of ribbons and medals), and the women in fancy dresses. Some of them men were in tuxedos, though. All of these people were my age or older. One elderly gentleman was introduced to someone else as having been in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the World Trade Center.
I'd been standing next to Bob Uecker and hadn't recognized until after someone said his name (he's been the voice of the Milwaukee Brewers broadcasts since 1971, and has done some comedic acting).
I felt very underdressed, and I wasn't even with them! Funny, when I was getting dressed before the meeting, I'd contemplated wearing a jacket and tie.

But I was running out of time to get ready, and being the last meeting of the year before summer, I felt like I should probably go more casual. *shrug*
I was one of only two people wearing kilts.
