I've been wanting to see the doctor for a full physical, but my doctor retired. He sent me a list of recommended choices. So I called to make an appointment. The woman told me that most of them had openings in May, but one had an opening on April 12th. He wasn't the one I most wanted to see, but I didn't really want to wait an extra month. I figured I could always change doctors afterward, if I wasn't impressed. They called back the next day and told me I had to wait another month. Apparently, that existing slot was being saved for an emergency with a current patient. Since I was waiting that extra month, I switched to the doctor I most wanted to see.
