Two days ago it was nearly 70 degrees. This morning we had a little snow. I think the high today was 35°.

I tried getting a spare tire for the Mustang, but they won't fit in the trunk. I'll be without one for another five years.

I cleaned up the garage and worked in the shed a little. Took in the patio furniture and the potted plants. My back is feeling it. Then Cyn had me cleaning the basement.

I saw nearly 70 sandhill cranes fly over today. I wonder how many I missed.

Getting cold here, too. We've been getting some rain; and snowing at higher elevations.

It's been unseasonably warm all season. Now it's pretty much normal for this time. Or maybe colder.

Were you counting the cranes for a reason?

I THINK I got all the plants that have to come in inside. Every time I look around though, I look around however, I find something I have not done before the freeze tonight.

Because there were a lot of them. I don't think I've seen more than two at a time before. They were in three groups. 18+, 40 and 10.

I've been doing fall cleanup for quite a while, so I think I'm done. I'd been putting of cleaning out the shed and splitting firewood until it got cooler (working in the yard while it was still nice out), but now it's nasty out there. It was really windy yesterday.

I didn't actually take any plants inside. The potted plants were tomatoes and peppers. They went in the compost and the pots went inside the shed.

I wish I had shed room for my ceramic outside pots. I put the plants inside them in a plastic pot, and remove that "sleeve" and turn the ceramic pots over for the winter in the hopes that not holding water will keep them from breaking more than they already are. The only one I have left is the giant clay pot that sits on a stump in big mama garden. I have already taken the dirt and dead plants out of it though.

"I didn't tell Cyn that I was in pain when she asked me to clear a path for the furnace repairman."

I wasn't in pain, just tired.
