Sunday night the boss and I drove to Minneapolis. He drove for the first two hours, and we talked off and on. Which was fine. Then I drove and he studied for his motorcycle test on his phone for the rest of the way, so that was fine too.

Training was difficult. I was having trouble making sense of things. I just felt foggy. I felt like the dumbest person in the class.

Then I went liquor shopping. I got sorta lost. My phone was dying, so I couldn't use the GPS, and I kept forgetting the highways I was supposed to be looking for. I wasted about half an hour trying to get there. And then I was kinda foggy in trying to figure out what to buy. I made an adequate pick.

I met my friend Phil after that. It was good catching up with him. It's been a while.

Today's training session was better.

The ride home was good. Traffic was very light. The weather was good. Conversation was fine.

At least the drive was ok. It sounds like you have a distracted brain at the moment.
:(
How about carrying one of those portable batteries with you for recharging your phone?

Is liquor cheaper in MN?

Distracted brain. Yeah, pretty much.

See below for my phone battery woes.

I needed to pick up some high-end Scotch before Saturday, and I didn't have time for a trip to Chicago. It turned out the Twin Cities has a store with a great selection, so I kinda lucked out.

Yup...What Sue said...a new battery is needed.

Surdyk's has a good selection. I needed a great selection.

Surdyk's prices, however, can't be beat. Anywhere!

I guess my needs are for variety and price. I'm not as much the connoisseur. Where did you end up going?

Surdyk's is the place for you!

Oh, I meant to mention, Ace Spirits. A better and more interesting selection than anyplace in Milwaukee.

when was the last time you took a vacation which involved just resting around home, and doing things you enjoy? You may need a recharge.

Never? I had a great, relaxing weekend a couple of weeks ago, but the stress started back up as soon as I got to work the next day.

I always use my phone's car charger to plug in my phone when using the GPS. It works great and my phone battery never runs out of charge.

My phone was not charging well on this trip. During that jaunt, it was plugged in in the car, and I only turned the GPS on a few times, but it still barely gained any charge. And I had to charge it up because I expected to make a phone call from my destination.

Then I charged it to full overnight. It was down to 49% by lunchtime, with almost no use. In the afternoon I plugged it into a computer, and it gained 2% charge in an hour. I switched it to an outlet, and it gained only 7% in an hour. Then I drove home with it in my pocket, and it hardly lost any charge.

You need a new battery Sir.

Well now it's odd, because I haven't had trouble since then. And I search for batteries online, and half of them have reviews that say the battery is cheap crap, and their phone's life is no better than it was before. In the other half of the reviews, the ratings are in the middle because half the customers like them and half say they're crap.

There are also articles stating that there are battery life issues caused by Android.

So now I'm not sure if I have a problem with my battery.

I found that my batt drains very fast if the GPS isn't swioed totally off the desktop. Maybe you have apps working in the background that you don't know about?

I checked the battery usage stats, and nothing seemed out of place.
