I went to the health guy, and he helped me with that hip thing. It's not healed, but it's improved. While there, I forgot to ask him about this ache in my leg. It got worse. It's not now as bad as it has been, but it's still bugging me. I tried doing yoga again last night, but between that and my hip not wanting to bend in a certain direction, I could do very little.

My sleep has been bad. I've been really tired lately. I can't get to sleep without medication, even when I'm exhausted. I've been getting six or seven hours of sleep lately, and it caught up to me this week. Yesterday I was way more tired than usual, even though I got the usual amount of sleep the night before. I went to bed early, and got to sleep in a reasonable amount of time, even though I didn't take anything. I probably got nearly eight hours of sleep, and was back to my usual somewhat-tired self today. I wonder if I can do that again.

My body is exhibiting signs of stress lately. I'm not really sure what the source is, unless it's lack of sleep pushing my crankiness into a death spiral. I think this stress is a big part of my body ailments. Work isn't worse than usual. The political climate is worse than usual. I've been busier than usual - only a couple of free nights a week, lately, including weekends. I think things will open up soon. And I have a couple of weeks off work, over Christmas.

Have you been checked for sciatica? Hip and leg pain are indicators.
Or blood tests for anemia?
When I have mega-insomnia I know it'`s all about stress even when stressors aren't obvious. So yeah...I understand the frustration.

My previous pains were explained well. Just muscle stiffness. This other one in my leg is not exactly stiffness, more like a strain. Not sure. Wasn't checked for anemia. Does that come on suddenly?

It depends on the cause of the anemia. It can come on suddenly from certain conditions.
Also, thyroid problems can cause extreme tiredness...something else to think about.

I'd be more worried about the tiredness if I were getting eight hours of sleep.

Geez these could be a post from me. You are turning into me! LOL
Arthritis? I take Ibuprofen in regular intervals throughout the day plus two kinds of pain pills. Maybe you could take two Ibuprofen three times a day. If you worry about your stomach you could take Omeperzole (prilosec) once a day too. Taking the Ibuprofen like that instead of waiting for the pain controls upcoming pain and inflammation which results in pain. Worth a try. Pain screws up sleep.

Ibuprofen can definitely be your friend! Just don't take it on an empty stomach and it should help with any inflammation-related pain. I took 1-2 pills three times a day for about a year after my C-section for backaches (due to my underlying scoliosis). For about another year I took 1-2 twice a day, and for another year took one a day. Since then only occasionally as needed. Your insomnia could be all about stress and/or hormones: "...the increased prevalence of insomnia in middle age may be the result of deteriorating sleep mechanisms associated with increased sensitivity to arousal-producing stress hormones rather than to increased life stresses during this period." It's mostly muscle stiffness kinds of things. Not sure exactly what this latest thing is. Feels kinda like a strain.

That sounds kinda like me.

It's all muscle stuff.

I hope you're feeling better and sleeping better soon!

I'm sleeping more, as of this week. I'm making myself go to bed earlier. Didn't use medication one night, so that was good. Still feeling tired, but not horrible, like it was last weekend.
