We packed on Wednesday night, do the most part. Thursday I worked in the morning and rushed out at 1:00. We left home at 2:40 for a 5:45 flight. Stopped by the optometrist to have my glasses adjusted.

Cyn got to go through the TSA Pre line, so skipped most of the searches. I didn't, so she still had to wait for me to put my shoes back on. Our flight left a little late but they always build in some padding, and we arrived in Baltimore on time. We only had an hour between flights so I was a little nervous when we had to wait a good ten minutes for a gate. It turned out our next flight was delayed 45 minutes. And again after pulled away from the gate. And again. An then we waited in line to take off. Lots of flights departing Baltimore at 11pm.

We arrived on Long Island, called the hotel for the shuttle and got checked in. Got to bed around 1:30, but neither of us slept well.

Today we got up, went to breakfast. Sat around all morning. Walked down the road to a deli and got sandwiches for lunch. Sat around all afternoon. So so so booooring. Finally made contact with the kids. Hung out with Heather & Greg and Mike for a bit. Then went back to the room for a couple more hours.

We're here on Long Island for Mike's and Jill's wedding. Mike is Cyn's son, and Heather is her daughter. Tonight was the rehearsal dinner (which we paid for). There was no rehearsal, just dinner. Twenty people. It was a good time. Good food too. First, bread. Then salads, then antipasta, then pasta. Then the main course, followed by dessert. Four hours later and I can't sleep because I'm still full of food.

Waiting around is the worst part part of air travel. Sounds like you had late flights!
How can you have a rehearsal dinner without a rehearsal?
:P

I was a little surprised, myself, that they didn't do any sort of rehearsalish things there, even though I didn't expect much. It was just the traditional dinner for the wedding party the night before the wedding.

I am wondering why you just sat around for so long in NYC? Surely some walking was in order?

HAVE FUN! I bet it will be great!

We were on Long Island. No place to walk to and no sidewalks.

Long Island has no sidewalks? That's interesting!

Not within walking distance of our hotel. And there was no place interesting worth walking to. Not interested in strip malls. I would have liked to see the parks out on the tip of the island, but that would have been quite a hike.

I look forward to seeing the photos. Congrats to the groom and bride.

We have to be careful with the photos. We're not allowed to post any pics of the bride or groom until they have. Unfortunately, that won't be for a couple of months.

I hope you took photos of you and Cynn and surroundings.

I've got pics. We'll see what they are and what I can post. Either way, you'll see everything eventually.

*laughing* Is it odd that we get so invested in the events of people we have never met through the people we virtually communicate with? I look forward to them when they get here.

Invested in the events and the communication styles. Not everybody posts pictures like I do, and you do just fine. ;-)

We probably won't be back for a couple of years. We usually only go every other year, and we were out there twice this year. We'll put you down, though. :-)

No, neither of Cyn's kids are having children. But that's okay.
