We went to the blues festival, here in town. It was fun. We sat with a friend, whose wife showed up later. Last year I was a little aggravated because they like to talk with us through the entire show, but this year, they didn't do so. We got there around 4:00, and sat baking in the sun (not really complaining). Then the sun went behind a tree, and it cooled off. Then it went down, and it got downright cold. We both shivered through most of the evening. Were surprised to learn it was only the mid-sixties. Slight breeze, though.

Deb Callahan was playing when we arrived. I liked her set a lot. Maybe my favorite of the day. She's from Philly. The rest of the bands we saw were local.

Then the Jared James Nichols Band. Blues-ish hard rock. He did a Ted Nugent tune.

Then Reverend Raven & the Chain Smoking Altar Boys. Good show. Fun, swinging blues.

Then Jim Liban's band. I hadn't see him in years, so I wanted to see how he was doing now. Still good, but took way too long in between songs. He had a local blues guy, Stokes play a few tunes with the band. Then Milwaukee Slim joined for one. I loved Slim's red suit. I've been thinking lately that I want a purple one. And an excuse to wear it.

Someone I know thinks this guy is totally hot.

We had our lawn chairs set up along an aisle behind a tree, so there was a lot of traffic in front of us. And also a tree.

And he's from Sweden, which adds an element of specialness. :)

Yep I agree with "someone". That guy is yummy.
Holy crap I guess its been longer since I've seen Jimmy Liban than I thought. I didn't recognize him. Plus, do they not call him Jimmy anymore?

He was always "Jim Liban" when I used to see him, back in the 90's. At least that's how he was billed. He looks like an Italian grandpa. I think his hair was only half grey when I saw him last.

Its possible I last saw him in the late 70's! Wow! That long ago? It was at the free city concerts at washington park when I was 15,16,17. With the band Short Stuff. He grew up and started calling himself Jim like I stopped with the Missy name HAHA!!

His friends probably still call him Jimmy.

He was still with Shortstuff? Wow, you're older than I thought!
