I had a Fresca for lunch (it was free). I've had half a glass of water, and a carmel chocolate bar since, and I still have that diet aftertaste in my mouth.
Are you referring to the after taste of a diet soda, or the taste you develope in your mouth when you diet? Diet soda's do leave a rather long lingering after taste, and that is precisely why I don't drink them. That taste you get when dieting has an interesting theory behind it. There are some researchers who believe that the taste is actually a sort of "ash" your body produces as a result of "burning" calories that had been stored as fat in your body. I think it is simply the result of not being allowed to put anything in your mouth, adding yet another unpleasantness to the whole dieting torture routine. Heh.
The taste of diet soda. Bleah. Every time I start thinking it is not so bad, I have one, and remember that it is.
On saturday, when I saw my friend's band play at the bar, I ordered a Southern Comfort and sour. I was disappointed to find she had made it with diet 50/50.
