So they changed the look of LiveJournal a little bit. *shrug* I've seen it many times over the years. It stopped being even annoying quite some time ago. They changed the names of things. We now have feeds and blogs rather than friends pages and journals. It being a journal was once a point of pride. Oh well. They want to make it feel more familiar to potential users. They'll learn how to use it once they get here.

The only time changes upset me is when functionality changes. That didn't happen this time, as far as I can tell. Just the names for things, and the locations for links, but only a little bit.

Every year or so, they change things on Flickr. The time before last, everybody got upset and were leaving the site en masse. I couldn't understand it at all. To me, it hardly seemed to have changed. But the last time it changed, they changed it a lot. They made it harder to interact with people. Harder to see the textual information I uploaded with my photos. They completely removed a feature or two that was unique to the site. That upset me. But I stayed with it, and now I'm used to it. Still not happy about the changes.

But LJ? Still the same. Now the changes they made last time...

I hate what they did with my scrapbook a long while back. It's a mixed up mess and I had it all organized. I haven't tried to straighten it out.

It was a new format (and I DID like the old one way better) but all my albums are still there and nothing got mixed up. I've gotten used to the new one; I guess, but miss the annotate feature the old one had.

Fortunately, my scrapbook wasn't messed up too much. I'm still annoyed that new albums doing go on top, so that you always have to click to the end to see your current stuff. Why is that so hard to figure out?

Maybe the Russians are backwards? ;-)

I so agree with you, Kevin. People are getting hysterical again over not much. I would prefer they not redesign but I just kept the old one for now and will go with the flow when the new one is imposed. Not a huge problem.

I still don't know what the new LJ design looks like because when they asked me if I wanted to stay with the old LJ, I responded "Yes." But I agree with you: much ado about nothing.

I haven't really noticed the change since I usually interface through my iPhone.

Plus: belated LJ Birthday wishes to you!

Now that I tried it on my laptop, it's a disaster. I can't log into to new or the old site! I need to unblock the f@cking Cookies, I suppose.

Okay, functionality changes are a problem.

I didn't have time to check out the new look so I just clicked on the change to old format button. I get curmudgeonly about change but always eventually get used to it. When I have more time I may look into the new look.

The new style

I haven't checked it out because I haven't mentally had the time. Just didn't want to jump into something again (although I don't think it's going to make that much of a difference).

It looks like you might still have an S1 style, which is no longer supported. So that might be a bigger deal than I had. Mainly I just saw changes to the default page layout. And it was mostly just visuals and labels. You know, like "friends page" is now called "feed."
