Yesterday, Cyn and I put on our warm clothing and went to the beach. It was 15 degrees, and we were out for about an hour and a half.

There were some big ice volcanoes. The ice freezes onshore, and creates channels. The waves come in these channels and spray upwards, depositing ice on top of the ice, and it builds up in cones. Eventually, the channels freeze over, into tunnels, but the water still shoots out, so the cones build up on all sides.
I couldn't make up my mind which ones to show, so here are most of them...
4
Before the ice had completely solidified, the wind blew small icebergs through the slush, so when it did freeze solid, the trails of the icebergs still showed.
5
The steps were covered with ice and packed snow.
6

It was snowing. The snow kept getting in my viewfinder, so I couldn't see what I was shooting.
8
I wasn't the only one with a camera.

I love the clear ice. I wish we could have gotten out there when the sun was out.

It's not really that big. But it's still big...

And I'm thinking of Planet Hoth from Star Wars, which was probably as chilly as your Wisconsin!
