Beautiful! Is it "real" or created? Not that it matters.

I saw a picture of it from last year, when the blue was bluer. My wild guess is that he found the flag, and sorta wove it into the chair he made of found wood. And will leave them both until they fall apart completely.

GRRRR

I really like how you can see the texture of the stitches, both in the stars and the connection of the stripes. Very Very good lighting. Sorry if you got this as a anon - I can't tell if it went through or not, the error messages I have gotten while trying to respond are weird!

Oh gosh! The first thing that came into my head is that the flag, in that kind of shape, should be burned. (That is what legally is supposed to be done.)

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people feel that way. It has kind of a "preserved as-found object" feel to me. And it's not exactly a legal requirement. It's more of an official guideline. But I don't think that flags are holy objects.

Robert, as a Vietnam Veteran, thinks that it is very important.

I can understand why he feels it more sharply than I do, but I feel he was fighting for our country and our people, not for cloth. Yes, it's a symbol of this country, but I don't see this "display" as disrespectful. There's a certain earnestness here. Perhaps nostalgia. It's not a torn flag, in view of all. It's not fallen off its pole, lying in the dirt. There's no purposeful disrespect. It's not what I would do with a flag, but I'm not going to get upset about it.

Well... even he knows that it really want not fighting for our country...
It was a stupid conflict...
They all are.
