Wednesday night, Cyn and I found the dead deer. I didn't have a wide angle lens on my camera, and my 3d image didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, so we went back for another shot, so to speak. Unfortunately, tonight the sun was on it, and so the light was harsh. So here are some from that night, some from tonight, including a wiggle 3d image.

It looks like it's flying. A nightmare with a flaming mane.

It was about three feet long, from front to back, and I'd guess it stood under three feet at the shoulder.

There's a bit of white fur at the tail.

The wiggle picture is awesome :)
I'm glad you posted these pictures. I was looking forward to them.

Date: 2013-07-20 02:09 pm (UTC)From:A long time ago I found a deer in the woods. There was nothing but the skull, spine and a hind leg, all still more-or-less connected.

Date: 2013-07-20 03:10 pm (UTC)From:I found an armadillo spine with the hips the same way up top (it is now in the front flowerbed with the turtle shells) one week, and the next week I found an armadillo skull in the same place. I don't know if it they were part of the same animal or not. The coyotes may be playing head games with me.

Date: 2013-07-31 12:44 am (UTC)From:I take two photos from slightly different vantage points - preferably the same distance apart as our eyes - and then just make an animated gif out of them. Usually I do cross-view stereoscopic (like these (http://www.flickr.com/photos/14542870@N03/sets/72157624018249496/)), but I just figured out how to make animated gifs.

Date: 2013-07-31 03:13 am (UTC)From:The gifs are tougher, since they have to be lined up better, and the color and lighting have to be exactly the same, or the flashing can get annoying.

Date: 2013-07-31 03:30 am (UTC)From:2. Browse for the images you want to use, and OK. They'll be loaded into one image, on separate layers.
3. Window > Timeline
4. Click "Create frame animation"
5. At the upper right of your Timeline area, there's a tiny button that's a pulldown menu. Choose "Make frames from layers."
6. Beneath each frame in the Timeline, choose your time. For this one, I chose .1 second.
7. Change the repeat from Once to Forever.
8. Save for Web, choosing GIF.
That's for a very simple gif, where you have a separate image for each frame. You can do them where only parts are animated, and other fancy things. But this is as much as I know!
