Our dishwasher leaks, so we went to the dishwasher store to buy a new one. We were checking out the various models, when the salesman came up. When I saw him, the first thing I noticed was his missing lower front tooth.

When we were closing the sale, he saw my last name, and asked if I was related to a local dentist of the same name. I said no, but that I used to go to him. He told me that was his dentist. See previous statement about his missing tooth. Hilarious!

Funny he mentioned the dentist, because my mouth was still a little numb from being drilled, earlier in the afternoon.

We started out looking for dishwashers at Home Depot. Too cheaply made. Then Colder's (furniture/appliances/electronics store). Way too expensive. Then Sears was just right. Good stuff, reasonable prices, helpful staff. Okay, maybe a little too helpful - it took us forever to get out of there!

After I got home, I went out to look for the comet. Couldn't find it. Possibly too much light pollution.

I purchased a maytag from Home Depot. They're a good brand. Haven't had any problems with it. It was in the middle of the road price wise, about $600.

He was missing more than a bottom tooth. Plus the rest were severely crooked and yellow-brown. Not a good advertisement for that dentist!

I think his lifelong dental problems mean he sees that dentist a lot.

My parents swore by Sears for appliances and may Dad only bought their Craftsmen tools when they were still made in the USA. Good to know they're still offering a good selection and (too) good assistance.

It's nice that you got a good dishwasher from good ol'Sears.

We got our fridge, dishwasher, and glass-top stove from Home Depot a few years ago. I think they're reasonably priced and good quality so far (all stainless steel GE brands). The dishwasher was a cheaper model (around $200 or $300). So far so good, though.

We looked at Home Depot first. Everything was cheap, but also seemed really cheap. Then we went to the big furniture store. All the dishwashers were really expensive.

So then we went down the road to Sears, where there was a wide variety of price and quality. And the prices seemed pretty decent.
