I just put it in the scanner and scanned it, with no backlighting. I adjusted the contrast quite a bit, but didn't change the color at all.

See the green? Check out the streak that goes across the bricks from the bench upwards and to the right.

There's color in there? Wow, that's old film. The fact that it's square says it might be a Brownie snapshot?

The color comes from "stains" on the negative. It looks pretty beat up. the film is actually from the late sixties, I guess. The camera is a Brownie Hawkeye Flash (http://www.flickr.com/photos/14542870@N03/6968687561/in/photostream) that I picked up at an auction about fifteen years ago. There were several pictures exposed on it, and I just finished the roll and had it developed.
