After the Dry Forks slot canyons, I decided to see if I could make it to another, Zebra Slot Canyon. I didn't make it to the slot, but it was a nice walk in Harris Wash.

I heard a raven, and saw it fly down to the canyon floor and back up to the cliff side, several times.

It was a nest with younguns.

Apparently a fence intended to keep cattle in/out, but not be destroyed by a flood. The top of it was about shoulder height.

I climbed up to look at the solution holes.

Check out these stripes. You can imagine what a slot canyon would look like in this rock. One of my bigger disappointments to have missed it.

I left Harris Wash just in time to make Devil's Garden at sunset.

There were several other photographers there.

I was the only one left after the sun had disappeared.

Interesting how the different layers responded to the elements.

It's amazing what erosion does to rocks. That last part looks like a sculpture garden. The colours and stripes don't even look real. Wesaqw a lot of that kind of thing and it all just awed us.
You got some beautiful light in the devil's garden.

I find those rock sculptures absolutely fabulous. Makes me wonder what changed to produce the bright red and very beige layers...

I always wonder about that too.
