In the morning, I drove over from Mt. Carmel Junction, and stopped a few places again in the east side of the park above the tunnels.

Right at the entrance to the tunnel is the trailhead for Canyon Overlook. It's not a long or difficult walk, and it leads to an overlook... of the canyon.

Below the trail, there was a team of canyoneers climbing down through the slot canyon.

This was up there.

After I got down to the Visitor's Center, I rode the shuttle all the way to the top of the canyon. This rock stands near the shuttle stop at the Temple of Sinawava.

I walked up to the entrance to The Narrows, which were closed due to high water.

Has anyone climbed up on the ledge in picture #5? I don't see a trail to get up there.

The weird formation? Probably. It's not very big. It is somewhat fragile, though, so I hope not many people try it.

They must have had a lot of rain there for the creek (river?) to be that high. The rest looks pretty dry but that could be my perception due to the red rocks.
I like that odd ledge.

Snowmelt. I know it was still that high three weeks later.

Picture #4 is so three dimensional. I'm not used to it in a normal photo. And, damn! Look at those roads!

The first time I was on that road, it was night and I saw lights way above me. It took me a minute to realize that they were headlights, and these were the switchbacks I had seen on the map.
