Dayum, I'm having trouble getting rooms for my trip, a month and a half out. There's no room available for one of the two nights, near Grand Canyon. For the other night, I'll be up the road an hour further. I was worried about getting a room near the North Rim, since there is so little there, but I putzed around about it anyway. Last I checked, a week and a half ago, there were plenty of rooms at that place. I haven't checked rooms in Kanab, but hopefully they will be available. Of course, I hadn't even figured out what nights I'd be where, until last night, but I should have done that three weeks ago.

Now the Zion area is totally booked, as far as I can tell. Again, I'll be farther down the road than I would have liked. Now I see everything's booked, near Zion. I should have known that would be tricky, since it's a weekend, but I hadn't even checked there until now.

I got a room in Escalante, but not at my first two choices. It should be okay, though.

I'm glad I quit putzing around and got our GC lodging taken care of. And since we're staying with an LJ friend in Phoenix, that took care of that part. I guess May is a really popular time at the GC...any time after March and until October is, apparently.

Now I'm working on the "on the road" lodging coming and going. That's easier.
