low_delta: (christmas)
Had Christmas with dad's family last weekend. Cindy's kids arrived on the 23rd. My dad and stepmom visited on Christmas Eve. We did Christmas morning, then Cyn's family all (except Stan) visited in the afternoon. After a nap, I went to my sister's for Christmas with mom. Have been under the weather, so I pretty much collapsed after that. As usual, my runny nose symptoms showed up last night, several days after the whole illness started. Mike left for France today. Heather and Greg will head north tomorrow morning, then come back after a day, to pick up their cats, and will go home sometime after that.

I don't really feel like doing much of anything, not even reading. I've got Keith Richards's autobiography to get into, though.

Heather, Cindy and Mike.

Heather has been cooking. She made these croissants, among other delicious things.

I think the photo of us this year is a darned good one! It was good seeing you and thanks to you and Cyn for hosting again. John told me you know Leroy! Is it from snapfish or whatever that site is called? Have you two talked or do you just know his work?

It help to have good looking people in the picture. :-)

Leroy is on my list at Flickr. I don't really know him, though, I just watch his photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/wd9hot/) on my feed. He does great portraits. He really knows how to capture a person. That one of you and John is really nice.

He won a contest with Kodak once and got his picture up on that screen in Times Square. Whoopi Goldberg bought one from him and it's hanging in her house. He is very good but sometimes it's frustrating to get your picture taken by him because he is so particular but that is why his pictures come out so well I guess. I really liked the paper he used for our picture. It gave it a silvery look. Next time I talk to him I'm going to tell him about you and how you know his pictures. He'll love it! He can talk photography all day.

I just did a lookup online, and Leroy's got a real Google presence.

I was going to send him a message the next time I saw him on Flickr, and mention your picture. ;-)

I just figured out he's a ham operator. Now that I connected him with John, his username at Flickr, WD9HOT, becomes clear. Ha ha!

Yep and HOT isn't even a vanity call I'm pretty sure he was just randomly given those letters. I know a guy that is KC9RAT which was randomly picked too. Just lucky I guess. :) He will LOVE it if you contact him and mention the picture!

I'm sorry you're sick and hope you feel better soon. I also hope that Keith's Life will cheer you. I liked that book on SO many levels.
