Grandma is back in the nursing home. She seems fine, but since she's had this passing out/stroke problem, she can't go back home to her apartment. That assisted living place that she heard about, that was supposed to be opening in July, apparently is still in the dream stage. There's got to be a need for that kind of thing. There's nothing like it in her county.

It sucks because she is basically okay, she just can't chance living by herself, in case this happens again. She keeps having these strokes, or whatever they are. She recovers every time, but if she doesn't get help in time, who knows what could happen.

If these "episodes" dont kill her outright, she's easily got another ten years on the planet.

My mom and sister are going down to visit her this weekend. I'll be going down in a month, for our family reunion.

she is obviously a fighter....and that is what will get her through this mess.

I guess she can't take in a roomie/careprovider can she?

i'm really glad to hear granny has made a wonderful recovery...i used to work in a nursing home...many of the people find out after they settle in that they really like the companionship....and i have a feelin' that granny is just the kind of person to make the best out of any situation and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if she's gonna end up bein' one of the fav peeps of the residents as well as the staff... :)

Yeah, she gets along there fine (she was in for a month, earlier this year), but she is frustrated because she is in too good shape to be there - she doesn't need anyone to take care of her, she needs someone around just in case she needs help.
