And speaking of buzzwords, I'm hearing "what needs to be true?" a lot. As annoying as it sounds, I actually like it. It means someone is asking the question, and I'm going to give them my answer. I don't have to explain the whole issue first, since they're asking for the bottom line. I love the bottom line. I don't have time for all the nuances, because by the time I get through that, they've lost interest in the question, or are distracted by all the other problems related to the issue. Then, if they still need more details, I can explain, but by this time, they've already got the answer, and are trying to get it to make sense.
My boss said, "here's an annoying question for you," and laughed. "What needs to be true"?
I didn't acknowledge the buzzword. I said, "either they have to do it themselves, or we do it our way and they suffer, or they spend six months training us to do it the way they want it."

I think some of my current predicament - which is facing probably short-term unemployment (I'm guessing 60per-cent chance I'll end up leaving the company at this point) - is from a candid answer.
"What do you think of the design?"
"I wouldn't let my kid fly it."
