The best nights for viewing the Perseid meteors were thursday and friday nights. We were out on saturday night with our Scotch and cigars (and insect repellent), and saw a few, around midnight. I went out last night and saw one. It was a perfect night for viewing. A front had gone through, and the air was clear and cool. The moon had set early. There were no bugs. The air was a little chilly, but not cold. The patio still had some warmth for my bare feet. Too bad the peak was past.
