On saturday, we stopped in Baraboo for lunch. A couple doors down from the restaurant was this beautiful old theater.

Baraboo was the winter home of all the circuses, wasn't it? (Hence, the "Al Ringling Theater.) Why would they want to winter in Wisconsin? Wouldn't it make more sense to winter in Florida, or some place warm?

That's what I thought!

Yes, there are several historic sites in town with the Ringling name on it.

That really is an impressive old theatre. Looks like Baraboo has more life than Mazo. Of course, they do milk the circus connection for all it's worth.
LOL

There was definitely more happening in Baraboo that day. These people were waiting for a dance recital, though.

The last time we stopped in at downtown Baraboo, most of the stores were closed so the owners could attend a tourism conference. Nice. Of course, I should add that it was late March and about 35 deg F.
