I'm supposed to be cleaning the office. It's *really* a mess. And we're planning on doing a bit of remodeling, so at some point in the near future, we'll have to take everything out.
Here's how cleaning goes...
What do I do? Oh, my gaming stuff is all out. I should put that away. Oh, I should update my character sheet first while I still remember the stuff. *an hour later* This stereo doesn't really work anymore. *takes it to the garbage can* *comes back and cleans a few more things up* *finds a stack of CDs* Oh, I had totally lost these! I should put them away. Hmm, I'd better rip them to my computer first. Otherwise I'll never do them. *spends the next two hours at the computer*
Tonight, I didn't get very far when I found a couple boxes of my ticket stubs. Several years ago, I spent a while putting together a list of all the concerts I've been to. I have (almost) all the stubs, and back then my memory was better than it is now, but it still took me quite a whiel to put it all together. I had to make a few phone calls to friends, to figure out some of the details. Of particular importance were the opening acts. This was several pages. Within the year, I had lost half the sheets. And though the others aren't lost, exactly, I'm not sure where they are at the moment. So now I've begun a new project of logging (again) all these shows.
Don't tell Cyn, since I'm supposed to be cleaning the office. I'm going to try and limit my time on this, though. A half hour or so each night, for a long time, rather then a couple of weeks solid.

Date: 2010-03-10 10:54 pm (UTC)From:Ran: Sure, just help me with these canning jars.
15 minutes later:
Donald: I don't quite understand why finding the box we brought the last wine purchase home in helps in finding a needle.
Ran: Well, you see, the needle is in the attic, and if I'm going to get out the ladder to go to the attic I want to put away all the canning jars, and to do that we need to find that box....

Date: 2010-03-11 05:22 am (UTC)From:I used to go to quite a few concerts, and Cyn and I used to go a lot of them too, but in the last couple of years, it seems we've kinda given them up.
