At first it was shaping up to be a snowy winter, but we haven't had a good snow since the sunday before christmas. It snowed a little bit sometimes after that, but the wind blew it all away. Then it rained. We'd had a foot and a half on the ground, and now most of it is gone. We had freezing rain last weekend. That wasn't too pleasant. Our driveway is still mostly ice. I need to do something about that.

There's still snow, so there's a lot of whiteness, but that's because the rain turned it all to ice. I hope this isn't one of those winters that remains well below freezing for the next three months, while the snow on the ground evaporates, leaving nothing but brownness until mid-April.

I THINK I feel that way too.... but what I would really love would be a very early spring.

I don't mind a late spring. What I hate is an early spring, followed by a late winter, before the real spring kicks in. None of this stop-start stuff.

I've always said I like winter. It would probably be more correct for me to say I like snow. I don't like freezing temps. and ice. With snow you usually have decent temperatures. At least while the snow is coming down. Fall is my favorite time of year. Spring is nice too. Summer is hell on earth for me. Winter is problematic.

I agree with you about winter. I don't mind the cold as long as there's snow. Winter without snow is so not worth it.

I prefer spring over fall. But late spring and early fall are the best, and early spring and late fall are the worst. I like summer - as long as it's hot! :-)

I would take feet of snow over all this ice we have. The landlord is very good about keeping the driveway clear but last night it was like walking on polished mirrors - scary, very scary.

I totally agree with you. More snow, less ice (although the way I understand it, we're getting more ice storms because the higher up temps are higher because of global warming..).

We actually got snow on top of our icy driveway. Yikes!

You could be right about the global warming thing.

We still have enough snow if you would like some more.

Sure, load a trailer up for me. I'll be over to get it.

We actually got snow tonight. Probably an inch so far. I'm pretty sure there wasn't any in the forecast, as of yesterday.
