"She will detail her record of shaking up the status quo in Alaska and standing up to entrenched interests to put the government back on the side of the people."

"Republican leaders strongly defended Palin, who has won praise from influential conservatives for her opposition to abortion and her pro-business record."

So which is it? I wonder if "Putting government back on the side of the people" is going to be this election's "compassionate conservatism" lie.

Plus, from what I can tell, she's a damn idiot.

Hopefully, she will have the effect of absolutely ruining McCain's bid for president. I hope so.

If the comments over on cnn.com are any indicator, her speech was a HUGE misstep for the GOP. Lots of backlash. Voters are smarter than the GOP seems to believe.

Plus, seriously, this is a woman with 1.5 years of gubernatorial experience in the nation's least densely populated state, and whose biggest claim to fame otherwise is serving as mayor of a remote Alaskan town of 9,000. How does she have any room to talk about anyone being "inexperienced" in a leadership role? I mean, Obama's Chicago community probably had more than 9,000 residents. Good grief, what a stunningly bad choice for the GOP.
