I'm on bratwurst cluster.

I took the day off. I was going to run a few errands, and work in the garden a while. I got a later start than I'd hoped, then the errands took a while, and I went to a funeral visitation, and I just generally wasn't motivated. Also, it was really damn cold, so I didn't work outside at all. Seems like that flagstone has been sitting there forever.

I read a book. David Sedaris. I need to read more often. Maybe tomorrow night I'll finish it.

I'm really tired of conscientiously passing along information, while nobody does me the same favor in return. You'd think than when a good friend is coming into town for a funeral, our mutual friends would say something. But they never tell me anything.

I'm also tired of making the effort to contact friends (or family), and not receiving the same in return.

I'm thinking of buying a new lawn tractor. They're expensive.

I was stuck at the DMV for forty-five minutes while they tracked down a problem with my Social Security number.

I have too many projects. Too many of them are on the computer. I need to do something else, if only for the sake of my eyes. Too bad reading a book doesn't help any.

I still read LJ fairly religiously. I just don't post that much.

People can be so lackadaisical about contacting friends. That bugs me, too.
What was wrong with your SS number? I recently spent 3 years trying to get mine straightened out. It finally is.

The DMV had some mixup in their computers where my SSN showed as "duplicate." Don't know why, but I think they fixed it. Either way, I got my new license.

Which Sedaris book? I love his writing, his radio bits. I got to meet him at a book signing and it's so great to see him read live. I've read them all, but "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is still my all-time favorite.

That funeral bit is wacky. People are strange. My siblings and I joke that one day in the not-too-distant future, one of us will be speaking to our mom on the phone and she'll say something like, "Well, after your dad died..." And we'll be all, "Dad's DEAD?!" And she'll be all like, "I told you that." And we'll be all, "Nuh uh!" Yeah. Just sayin', it sucks, but you're not alone. ;)

I loved that book too. The chapter about his short moving career had me in stitches.

Holidays on Ice. It's the only one of his I've read, but I've heard others.
