The show was pretty much just like I expected. Four guys standing in front of computers. They had a video show. Their music was very... techno. Or proto-techno. Electropop, I guess. Not the most exciting show, but I enjoyed it. They did Autobahn and a few other tunes I recognized.

After the break, they returned with "The Robots," but instead of the bandmembers, they had robotic facsimiles of themselves. Mannequin torsos on stands that rotated, with slowly moving robotic arms, and heads that resembled their own heads.

Sorry, not much else to report.

We went by the place when they were unloading their teensy semi truck. The tractor was very very old.

Their tech consisted of:

four computer stands
four laptop computers, and other electronics (plus backups, I'm sure)
four robots
three projectors
giant screen
about a dozen lights
curtain? (not sure if was theirs or the venue's)
sound

That's it. I guess with the sound system they would have needed a whole semi.

I believe the trailer was only about 35' to 40' long. That tractor's almost ready for antique collector plates.

You wouldn't go again, eh? Too bad-- they have the potential to put on a terrific show, what with all the computer wonders out there.

No, I wouldn't go again. I'm sure the hardcore fans loved it. I'll hve to look for some reviews. To me, Kraftwerk is good music to have on, but not to rock to, if you know what I mean. But their performance suits their music. It's low key. The video worked. I guess they could have gone with a lightshow too.

Before we went by train to go skiing last year, I put on Trans-Europe Express and explained to the children that we would soon be going on a trans-Europe express. They weren't impressed.
