It started snowing at 6:00 yesterday morning, and quit sometime after midnight last night. We got about nine inches. There was a strong east wind, but it didn't seem to drift much. The snow was wet and packed to ice, so the freeways were pretty bad, but my short drive was no problem. They even plowed the lot at work, around lunchtime, so I could get out at the end of the day. I left work at 4:30, and was just about the last one to leave.
The last little lump of the snow lion is covered up. Last night, with the patio light on, I could see a slight rise on the snow. Cyn said she saw robins, earlier in the week, and I've seen a bunch of them almost every day since. I wonder what they're up to now. (Their necks, I guess, har har). I saw kildeer last night. Two of them flew, and landed on the ditch across the road. Scouting out nesting sites? I can't imagine they're very happy. And for a couple of days, we heard a flock of redwing blackbirds at the pond across the road.
And this is the second snowiest winter ever, for Milwaukee. 92 inches.
Edit: The high temp today was 45°. Kinda weird shoveling without wearing gloves.

Where do they measure the precipitation? ...the official measurement, I mean. At the airport?

Heather said today that Madison is sitting at 99 point-something inches. They'll probably break 100 today if this keeps up. They broke the record of 77 inches by a long shot!
