I think I've seen snow fall in San Francisco twice in 20 years..... Course it didn't stick.
Ranch gets it a little more often, but not much.

Cold though - just overheard one of the crew say that this morning it feels like he is back in Minnesota!

Those are polar bear lodges. They migrate south in the winter. That's an entrance on the side of the near "puff." Our winters haven't been long and cold enough lately, so this is the first time we've seen them around here since the mid eighties.

It's a shame that you did not get to see one of those owls! I do think that they are rather hard to spot though.

If I was ever going to see one, this would have been the time - the trees were bare, and it was bright out because of the snow.
