I came across this early Deep Purple Video. Before they were an early heavy metal icon in the seventies, apparently they were a lounge act. This song was from their first album. Their second album featured a cover of Neil Diamond's "Kentucky Woman."
Notice the singer's pants and the bassist's hair. Groovy! You can tell the real rockers are the keyboardist, the guitarist and the drummer. They're just trying to keep their heads down. They fired the other two after their third album.
Then they did this:

And this is what I was looking at, when I found the Deep Purple:
