There's an e-mail thing that goes around periodically, that is all about the unsafe things we did when we were kids. Like riding in the car without seat belts, and trick-or-treating after dark. The e-mail ends up with "and we all lived!"

Well duh! Of course everyone who is reading the message lived through that time. But what about the people who didn't?

Not that I'm appreciative of a society that breeds out survival instinct, but you've got to apply logic consistently.

PS. I think that seat belts are definitely a good thing. You should have seen the whole message.

I have that same reaction when I read e-mails like that. Not only is the logic flawed, but it's so self satisfied.

i agree 100%. i also hate that song by the american idol guy w/a similar premise.
