The heat that the rest of the nation was getting finally caught up to us last weekend. It was 95 on saturday, and 99 on sunday. Okay, most of the heat that the rest of the nation was getting, anyway. Yesterday, when I left for work, it was already over 80, so I closed the one window that was open. But a front came through. By 10:00, it was down to 75, it briefly dipped below 70, and we got a lot of rain. So when I left work, it was 75 and humid.

When I got home, the house was 80° inside, and the air conditioner was running.

Pisses me off that the temps were down and I was STILL uncomfortable trying to sleep.

It was humid.

I tend to close the windows and run the A/C because it wring the humidity out of the air.
It's so much more comfy to sleep.

Kevin hates air conditioning, so we compromise and neither of us is happy.

Well hell.
I'm glad I'm not married to you guys.
But can I have your cat?

Last night I would have packed her bags and handed her over. What a bed hog! And noisy too...

Date: 2007-07-11 02:00 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] roadskoller.livejournal.com
But...today I can't have her?

Kevin wants to know how soon you can get here.

Me too!!
Boohooooooooooohooooooo.....schnarfl...*hic*
I want to go home and hang on with my fingernails.
Then when they medicate me, I'll take delivery of the kitty immediately.
I SAID IMMEDIATELY!
Sorry.
I need a furry animal bad.

She needs constant attention. You two were made for each other.

Why weren't we introduced properly?
Selfish.....sister......hanging onto my....

*lol* sigh
once again, i am so easily amused by this sister thread. thank you.

cyn, may i suggest that a better compromise in the air conditioning situation is to take turns? that would meet each of your needs in a sharing type way. *heh* these things are never easy, are they.

and it is as *they* say-- it's not the heat, it's the humidity. ;)

We do take turns. We leave the a/c off as long as Cyn can stand it, and then then it comes on.

*snort* ooookey dokey. i was goin' by your wife's statement:
"we compromise and neither of us is happy"!

silly boy.

Okay, you're right, we don't keep the house freezing cold like she'd prefer. There's a little bit more leverage though, because we can't afford that. And I don't think the a/c unit could handle it, anyway.

I knew it would cool down today, but I left the house closed up anyway, for that reason.

And I don't hate air conditioning so much as I hate walking around the house in the summer wearing lots of clothes because 75° is too cool for shorts and a t-shirt.

I've noticed that I've got a wide variety of A/C temps that I can stand.
When I'm running around the house and doing physical work, I need it to be very cool...and when I sleep, but when I'm doing sentient things, 75 is good and sometimes too cool.
I think I'd drive you batty with the temperature differances.
Come to think about it...poor Stan.

Yeah, if I'm active, I get warm quickly. I can handle 70 without a complaint. But when I'm sedentary, 80 is on the cool side. But being too warm doesn't bother me much, so I don't mess with the temp.

part of the issue i have with 80 in the house is simply the stuffiness i feel around me, but i can deal with that. we generally keep the air at 78-80. i'd rather walk around naked than have the air too high, but at night, i really need a cool room. oy!

Cyn likes being covered by nice, securifying blankets, and I wait all winter to sleep with as little on as possible.

Dr. Zaccheus... Wasn't he the evil scientist orangutan in Planet of the Apes?

Dr. Zaius, perhaps?

Dr. Zaius: Have you forgotten your scripture, the thirteenth scroll? "And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him."

Right away I thought of another Z....
