Cyn and I decided to go out for ice cream. We got it (frozen custard, really) and went out walking. Do you ever see something and get the feeling that it's not real? Like you just walked onto the set of a movie? The sky was golden, and the sunlight was filtering through the trees onto the neatly trimmed lawns. In one yard, some kids were playing ball, and next door was a guy out playing with his dog. All the homes had such nice gardens and porches. We walked past the fire department with its flags (I'm sure they'd been washing the trucks yesterday afternoon), down to the river (with ducks landing on it) and by the mill. Just surreal enough to make you look twice.
