"Rock Around the Clock" was first published as a B-side (filler). The label said it was a foxtrot.  "Thirteen Women (and Only One Man in Town)" was the A-side. Session guitarist Danny Cedrone got $21 for his performance, which is considered the first great rock and roll guitar solo. The song itself was one of the first rock and roll songs. It was recorded in two takes which were spliced together.

I can that song as maybe a jitterbug, but NOT a foxtrot. Sorry, but the list of songs that I'll foxtrot would fit on one nanoscale hand.

I haven't dance a foxtrot since 8th grade! It looks real square; literally, unlike a waltz, which looks triangular.
