This is from Robert Fripp's blog.
...a discussion of the very special dates that Ade was hoping to announce, but have now been cancelled. This was to be a short K3 tour, some 9-10 shows beginning in Madison & Chicago, then moving to the East Coast: Boston, NYC & Washington.

What is K3? Three Kings of Crimson: the Tony Levin Band, the Adrian Belew Power Trio & ProjeKct Six, each presenting their work & followed by a K3 Jam: Tony & Bobby & Belew with Drummer Slick, celebrating 2 or 3 Crim classics that get their passion ignited.

Why are the dates cancelled? Right in the middle of the short jaunt, TLev is booked for a festival in Mexico City; an artist advocate was waiting for final artist confirmations that didn’t quite connect; my concern that we didn’t have any rehearsal time at all. That is, communication disconnection.
Damn! Any one of those bands would have been worth seeing, but all of them together? Wow. I was rather disappointed to hear that a few months ago Fripp and Belew did a short tour (with a guy from Madison who's pretty cool to see), and they didn't come here. Oh well, they probably would have come to town while we were out of the state.

You've really got to be careful what you yell and how you behave when Fripp is on stage. The last time they were in Madison, he wrote in his blog about an autograph hound who was infinging on his psychological space during the concert. He wouldn't come forward to take a bow after the show.

Cyn and I are big fans of the Tony Levin Band, and have seen Adrian, but not with this band (which sounds very cool). Not sure of the lineup for ProjeKct Six, but who cares?

KC is really something. You would have loved it. Unfortunately, they seem to be on extended hiatus, so they won't be around again soon.

Aw man

Ha ha - don't fret, the K3 tour is happening in the late fall, and in the meantime, Adrian Belew and the Power Trio will be on tour all summer, 2007 and beyond (once bassist Julie Slick graduates from Drexel University) and don't know where you are, but the Belew Power Trio are also doing 3 Ohio gigs February 15-17, and on the 17th, they'll be recording Side Four Live at the Southgate House right outside of Cincinatti.

You can also catch Drummer Slick with Project Object for free at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on February 14 and with Mr. Belew on February 15...then with Project Object at Zappanale 18 and associated Zappa street naming festival in Berlin at the end of July.

Okay? Okay!

Thanks Robin. I hope K3 still comes to Wisconsin.
