Cyn and I had a busy weekend.

Friday night, we went to see Les Lokey, and acquaintance of mine who is one of those singer/songwriter kind of people. It was a realy good show.

Saturday morning I slept in, and then went in to work for a couple of hours. Cyn did too. Then I spent a while on LJ. Then I putzed around the house and garden and wentback don to Cyn's. Then my friend Doug came and we played some games.

Sunday, she had a funeral to visit, and I worked in her flower gardens. Then we did more yard work, and got a compost bin, since there wasn't really very much we could do with all the stuff we raked up. Her neighbor wasn't too appreciative of the eyesore. (That comment was a bit sarcastic. It really doesn't look that bad.) After dinner, I helped her clean. Okay, I didn't really help very much, I mostly watched and lent moral support.

I had originally intended to leave sooner, last night, but I really needed to help her accomplish some things.

We had fun this weekend, and got some work done. It was nice.

You're a kind guy...

...helping the nice lady with her yardwork.
I bet she appreciated the heck out of you.

Ms Eff, watching you make Granny Freekee so proud...:)

i never thought of a compost bin/heap/drum/etc as an eyesore......i have always thought that it showed that the gardener was more than just a planter and reaper......and essential part of any garden scheme.......

That, and it really is just a small wire fence full of leaves.

yup, that's one of the best kinds......keep it moist and aeriated.....down there in the south, you should get decent compost in a season with minimal work......

My other neighbor complained about the last one. He wanted to plant grass in that area between his garage and my cement parking slab. He thought the compost bin was ugly and in the way. I was newly divorced and needed the help and goodwill of my neighbors, so I agreed to get rid of it just to make him happy. He recently moved out so I felt free to put the compost bin back. Who knows what the new neighbor will think (he's a friend of the other guy).

i think the compost bin is an earth friendly statement.......if ya want to spruce it up a bit, just get some pallet lumber, normally free if procured at the right place, and sweet talk freekee into helping make a little wooden enclosure....paint it a nice but obnoxiously bright color.....LOL

If he doesn't like it, maybe you could offer to plant something in front of it? Places that sell plants love to give you advice about what would be right to hide it well, not get too big, etc. etc.
