Date: 2007-01-09 06:14 am (UTC)From:American Airlines is usually pretty good, too. United is OK.
I've heard lots of good stuff about JetBlue and will try it for my first time next month.
I tend to avoid Northwest due to some negative experiences with them.
Ah, specifically Hawaii. I think I used SunTrips the two times I went to Hawaii, and they were fine. Here's a comparison of Aloha and Hawaiian Airlines: http://www.andhawaii.com/hawaii-vacation-articles/aloha_airlines.html
In case you're traveling to/through Honolulu, here's the list of the airlines using its airport: http://www.hawaii.gov/dot/airports/hnl/hnl_airlines.htm (Oh, yeah, I used to like American West, but think they may have gone downhill in recent years, I don't know for sure.)

Date: 2007-01-09 07:08 am (UTC)From:I will be honest, though, and mention that I don't really see any of my flights as being head and shoulders above the rest. I missed being able to listen to the pilots and the air traffic controllers, something they only allow on Delta.

Date: 2007-01-09 09:36 pm (UTC)From:American is good. I've had hit/miss with United. Delta are alright in a pinch.
Short story - last time I was in Florida for a launch I ended up extending my stay out by several days. It turned out it would have cost MORE for me to move my return flight home (United) than it would to book a completely new one-way flight on Delta - in fact, it would have cost well over $100 more.
