Hearing this Harry Nilsson song reminds me that we have a couple of coconuts. Any suggestions as to what we can do with them?

Those coconuts are pretty old...
I think you should just let Cyn wear them at parties. *L*

The red chair has it's time-outs for those who choose to sit in it.

I have no idea what you're taling about.

So... how's that pain medication?

Date: 2006-12-22 06:20 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] vocalista001.livejournal.com
I'm not on pain meds anymore...perhaps if I'd agreed to vicodin or valium, but no, I chose Tylenol....

Mummm has a special red chair. If one reclines in it and has something one wants to watch on the telly, it causes sleep.

But there are late-night reprieves. Thus Mummmm escapes form the clutches of the red chair about 11- midnight or so, and enters Lj-land.

Ah. Apparently she didn't escape for very long.

The red chair failed to cure my tiredness last night! I actually went to bed pretty quickly.

She is the all knowing Lynda who understands about the comforts of the red chair!

One of my favorite (Silly) songs.

I love that album.

Are these Mummm's coconuts?

Score them and crack them and line them with down and silk......

One's bigger than the other.

Isn't that just like life!

Do you think Blue Cross will cover it? Mental anguish and all....

I don't think you can get insurance for coconuts. Unless you're hit by one.

Ow! I'm concussed! I'm concussed!
put the lime in the coconut, and drank them both up

Poke a hole in the end with a nail, drain out the milk. Enjoy that in cooking or in drinking.. the take them out to a concrete place, put newspaper or a paper bag down and smack the wad out of them with a sledge hammer or a regular hammer until they crack.

Peel the OHSOYUMMYDELISH coconut meat out of the shell, and MUNCH ON IT!

I LOVE fresh coconut!

Mummm (who sent them to Cyn) says they're pretty old.

I brought them to your party! Wasn't that pretty long ago?

Was that two.. or three months?

It was warm, I remember that. Were they fresh then?

I believe so. Still, how long to coconuts last?

Date: 2006-12-23 05:18 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] ravenfeather.livejournal.com
That I don't know (that was me btw) because I get them from the grocery store, and whoonlyknows how long it takes them to get there from the tropics!

It will be interesting to see what is inside at this point.

Sorry, that comment to mumm below was me. They may not have any milk then, but the meat may still be moist. The milk fortifies the meat.. or adds to it, until it is gone, then the meat starts to shrink, so the key is to get a balance. Once the milk is gone, the meat starts to shrink, and that can make it easier to peal it off the hull.. but there comes a time when it starts to shrivel and get hard, and the only thing it is good for is grating.

It's been about five months. I'll break one open and see what's up.
