Population of the Town of Grafton is approximately 4,132, and you were the 222 voter by about 8:30am? That means that roughly 5% of the Town had turned out to vote already this morning. Not bad! Last election day only had about 300-400 voters total all day.

On further mathematical analysis (yes, it's really me), that comes out to about 150 people an hour. If that pace kept up for the 13 hours that the polls are open (doubtful), it would only come to 1950 voters out of 4132. That's only roughly 50%. Not so good. We can only hope that 2000 Grafton residents voted early with an absentee ballot.

But I was number 222 of the people who went to the table for four of the wards. The other table had its own numerical list.

And I had no line, and I'm sure there will be a line after 5:00, and more voters around lunchtime as well.

Oh wait...222. That shoots my theory. I thought one table had all even numbers for the even numbered Wards 2, 4, & 6, and our table had all odd numbers because the Wards were 1, 3, 5, and 7. I was Voter #9 so that fit my theory. Rats...

Good choices! I haven't voted yet; plan to after work today. I'll be saying yes to many things: cleaner air, more taxes on cigarettes, alternative fuel mandates, better funding for schools, improvement to our highways - and no to stupid things like longer prison terms for misdemeanors.

Usually I lose, though, because I frequently vote for higher taxes and most people don't.
