Date: 2006-09-19 03:30 pm (UTC)From:Just the other night, close to 10:00PM- as I was standing outside, it was very windy and the wind was extremely warm. There was constant heat lightning flashing across the entire sky in every direction I looked.
When looking at the sky toward the west, I saw cloud to ground lightning and I thought, damn the air has the feel of a hurricane.
I don’t know why but a tornado never crossed my mind.
When observing the sky I had no idea, that, at this very same time an F2 tornado was cutting a six mile swath of destruction in Rogers, MN. (About 28 miles from my house)
The winds were between 113-157 miles per hour. The tornado had a maximum width of 100 yards.
I knew something was brewing because it was too hot & humid, the dew point in the 60's, very unusual to have this sort of heat in the middle of September at 10:00 PM. Man, houses were blown off the foundations, and a ten year old girl was killed.
This summer, the temperature swings have been extreme.
Anyway, the tornado hit on Saturday night. And today I'm thinking that tomorrow, I might have enough snow to build myself a snowman. But he ain't gonna' keep me warm. Cause, it's colder than a well diggers ass.
:)
