Here's something I read today.

If you want to donate YOUR money to provide dental and vision benefits to certain persons, by all means feel free. But stop presuming to force me to support YOUR favored charities. Tax money is a sacred trust that should only be spent for the "general welfare" or the benefit of all of society. It should not be taken from one man, who has earned it, and given to another man who has not.

Let me explain. Many of us feel that keeping the general population healthy does benefit all of society.
