If Brooklyn were not a borough of New York City, but were a separate city, New York would still be the nation's largest city (by population), and Brooklyn would be the fourth largest.
I love Chicago too, but the shopping at Christmas-time can get a tad hairy! Those lines to eat under the tree at (what used to be) Marshall Fields are impossible! And FORGET talking to Santa! *L*
i moved here from san diego and one of my first thoughts was, "why are the sidewalks so skinny!" there are definitely enough people here, especially downtown, for wider sidewalks. and during the holiday shopping, that would come in handy ;)
That always reminds me of the joke about the guy from Alaska who got very tired of the Texan boasting about how big Texas was. "If you don't shut up, we'll split Alaska into two states and make Texas only the third largest state!"
