scanner problems

A while back, I got this expensive Canon scanner. It worked pretty well until I got the new computer with XP. My old driver did not work, and the scanner would not work. I had to download a new driver from the company's website. The new software no longer lets me scan transparencies. WTF?

I just want to post my pictures on the internet. Obstacles at every turn.

I got an HP demo scanner from Staples for $65. It didn't have the USB cable included. The manager said "nobody includes those cables," so I went home and scanned the package insert that said a USB cable was included, and talked to another manager and got a $18 cable, so my net purchase was $47 and it works fine. Of course that doesn't help you, but if we were neighbors I would scan your negatives.
