I don't know why everyone is so upset about Bush being on vacation during this national disaster. It's not like he could do anything, anyway. What's he supposed to do? Oversee rescue efforts? *snort*

He is, however, the figurehead for this country. He's supposed to maintain an air of... whatever is required at any given time. I thought we needed to pull together and assist the victims of the hurricane in any way possible. Oh, I forgot, it's time for vacation. Okay, seeya. Err, what was I saying? I forgot - there's a party going on here. Um... my deepest sympathy goes out to the... yeah, that was a good one! Excuse me, now what was I saying? The devastation of the... hey, did I tell you about the time... oh yeah, the tsunami - look, I'm on vacation, here! Stop whining about needing help. We're gonna send you some National Guardsmen. What?

Oh, please don't misunderstand me...I don't think the president could have said or done anything useful. I just think it's disgraceful that he didn't make a statement or anything about the disaster until today.

By the way, did you hear he's ordering the formation of a task force? Doesn't that make you feel better? Wow. A task force. What's a task force, you ask?

So he's forming a committee. That'll take care of it.

it would have been such a good time to be invaded by some other country....perhaps england.....whose queen sent condolensces while bush still poo-pooed around on vacation. she seemed more concerned about the people who are suffering down south than bush did who was right next door goofing off for a couple days before he got his butt back to the office.
