You've probably heard that a guy was charged for possessing child pornography, and that the guy worked for The Boy Scouts of America. And you may know that I was a scout leader for a good twenty years, and can imagine that I don't feel this should have any implications for scouting itself. But I would like to share with you this little quote...
Smith, reached Tuesday at his home in Colleyville, near Fort Worth, referred all questions to his attorney, Jack Strickland, who said: "He's not taking this well. I've got to tell you, this is a good man and I would hate to see the entirety of his life and the good things he's done defined by one incident."I wonder exactly what it is that he's not taking well. Oh yeah, he's a good man. I mean, like, he's not making the kiddie porn, so he's not that bad, right? *trying to resist the urge to draw comparison between lawyers and... evil people*

If I had a nickel for every time I heard a "pillar of the community" kind of person try to use his status to get out of trouble when he's caught doing something vile...the stuff the "pillar of the community" image he created is there to hide...
