The first time I moved (when I was 6) we went about 20 miles. Just under a year later, we moved twenty miles back near the original location. When I moved out of my mom's house, I went .63 miles. When I moved out of my apartment and into my own house, I went 300 feet. When Cyn and I bought this house, we moved 3.3 miles. I now live seven tenths of a mile from where I started.

I've just moved around within California, but I've lived all over the state.. from L.A. to Arcata, about 700 miles between them. It must give you a great sense of security; like you know all the streets, where all the landmarks are located, etc.

I couldn't live like that, although I am closer to the place I was born (at least in the same state) than I have been in a long time. I actually LIVED in Columbus GA twice in my life, once with my parents, once with my husband. The rest has been flung far and wide. I have never LIVED in the Northeast however, or the north middle section of the US either, for that matter. Every other part of the country is familiar living territory.
