I decided I would cut a copper pipe, and strip the galvanized back to the point of leak. It was the fourth fitting back. It was a bigger pain than I expected, since there was less room to manuever the wrench than I thought. I couldn't get the leverage I needed, so I can only hope everything is tight. I didn't have room to get the last piece of galvanized pipe threaded into place - no room for the wrench at all - so I put copper in its place. I didn't feel like waiting around for things to cool down so I could turn the water back on and then wait to see if it leaked, so that will be tomorrow night's treat.

The drywaller is starting on friday and the electrician had better be doing his thing tomorrow. I might take thursday off if I don't think I can get everything done tomorrow night.
