This weekend, a friend was telling me of her experience with her grandmother dying, a few years ago. The doctor had told her that it was common for people in her situation to relive their lives. This sort of flashback would impact their current perceptions. My friend said that one time she went to visit her, she didn't recognize her. Later on, she did, because she had gotten to the point in her life story where the girl had been born. At one point, the grandmother's fingers were going. The doctor asked if she had ever knitted. She had, of course.

It doesn't sound very believable the way I tell it, but her story certainly made me wonder.
