There's a young lady I know - just over half my age - who's hit on me a few times. At one point she admitted she'd been saying things she thought I wanted to hear, just to be able to keep emailing me / calling me.

I tried to explain to her that being genuine is the best way to find the "right" mate, and I certainly wasn't the one. I also tried to explain how being manipulative (like.. lieing to get what you want, etc) doesn't work, and usually ends up creating awkward situations in the least, and possibly outright disgust.

I've pretty much stopped talking to her, and as a result, she's stopped lieing to me. :-)

Kids these days... sheesh!

i recently revised my journal posting-method by regularly erasing dated stuff. most people don't notice anyway since few ever journey beyond their own friends page. i nearly bought a house twice, but still no banana :(

Ayep. It's that whole thing about web-weaving and maintaining the web once woven. Somehow that whole "forever after" thing escapes the picture once the loom starts running.

We had lots of canned and bottled beverages - soda, beer, wine coolers, etc.

I thought I saw something about houses, but I haven't had the time to read much, in the last couple of weeks. You're erasing stuff just because most people don't read it after the fact? Youi odn't want that stuff around? Only the current picture?

just feels fresher that way. no life long history left about on the web, just the daily or weekly thoughts. my friends list has seen no additions in about a year, so the people who read me they... well, they read me :)
